As I've mentioned on my Snorkeling page snorkeling is significantly cheaper, simpler, easier to perform, and safer than other underwater activities. At the same time it allows you to have lots of fun and to see the underwater views with your own eyes. 

I'm not going to teach you snorkeling here. I'll just share my experience: how I learned snorkeling, swimming and free-diving (without air tanks). Also I'll give you some advice on what snorkeling gear is most suitable for Ireland.
